At our clubs first 4-H horse show ever, we had outstanding results!

Michelle Freeman won High Point Senior with her horse, LPS Snickers. Austin Miller won High Point junior with his Aunt's (Michelle Miller) horse Honey. Alexandra Harrell won Grand Champion Halter horse with HVK Figurante, owned by Connie Gosling.

I am also very proud of our members results on the written exam. The weather was very hot but our kids smiles never faded nor did their sportsmanship.

My Clover Bud members turned in Very Nice exhibits and did an Outstanding job talking with the Judges and sharing what they had learned about their projects.

Elisabeth Foutch and Justin Gray exhibited rabbits this year and both were awarded an A ribbon. How exciting for their first year showing rabbits!

Our goal for next year is to once again be an example of good sportsmanship and good citizenship. We would love to have more club members be able to show horses too. The horse does not have to be owned by the 4-H member, it can be leased the day of the 4-H show only.

If you have a well trained horse that could be leased for the day of our 4-H show and would like to support 4-H, please contact me. The 4-H club has a lease form that has to be turned in by May first declaring the horse that the child will show. It's very helpful to the 4-H member if they can work with that horse, with instructor or owner supervision, during the months preceding the 4-H show. The horses are only at the show for the day of the event.

I can't say enough about this wonderful group of 4-H members! It has been my privilege to lead them through the first year of "Horses In Paradise". I truly believe that the best is yet to come.
